General Meetings - Final Mail Out
Kia ora koutou katoa,
As per the Cambridge Netball Constitution, information was sent to you twenty days in advance of the Special General Meeting due to be held on Monday 8 March 2021.
We are now forwarding you some additional information in preparation of the Special General Meeting (SGM) and the Centre’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). This is to help create clarity around the process moving forward.
By following this LINK you will find:
- a copy of the February 2021 memo,
- the current Cambridge Netball Constitution,
- the proposed Cambridge Netball Constitution,
- a Transition Regulation,
- the 2021 Annual Report, and
- a list of nominees for the 202 Cambridge Netball Board.
In preparation for the SGM and for your convenience, we have attached the information sent out in February regarding the plan for the SGM and the current and proposed constitutions.
The attached Transition Regulation (Rule 19) was adopted into the Cambridge Netball Regulations at the Executive Committee meeting held on 3 March 2021. This Regulation was adopted to create clarity for the community by specifying the ways in which the process of transition between a repealed constitution and a new constitution would be managed.
Rule 19 of the Cambridge Netball Regulations outlines a timetable for the transition period, the process that will be followed, information regarding the Transitional Board that will be formed and addressing any potential constitutional issues.
Representatives from the Executive Committee have worked in consultation with Netball New Zealand throughout this process and have utilised the template they supplied to ensure Cambridge Netball is able to fulfil its obligations as Members of the Waikato Bay of Plenty Netball Zone and Netball New Zealand, while also complying with the responsibilities of an Incorporated Society. By aligning with a board governance structure Cambridge Netball will have a framework that supports its strategic future.
Finally in preparation for the AGM which will take place at the conclusion of the SGM, you will also find a copy of the 2021 Annual Report attached, which will be tabled on Monday night.
We are thrilled to announce that Cambridge Netball has received multiple nominations for positions on the Cambridge Netball Board in 2021. To support Members in deciding who they would like to represent them on the Board, nominees were asked to provide a photo and information about themselves. A list of your 2021 Cambridge Netball Board nominees is attached and will also be on the Centre’s Facebook Page soon.
We look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
Ngā mihi nui,
Cambridge Netball President
