Hello everyone.

We hope that you have all managed to stay safe and well in your bubbles.  I feel a little like the Grim Reaper delivering this news that we all hoped wouldn’t come, but is maybe somewhat unsurprising.

Cambridge Netball Centre wish to advise that our 2021 season for all Grades has now concluded.
Moving to Alert Level 3 is a step in the right direction and hopefully we will start to see daily COVID numbers start to drop. However, netball is still not permitted in Alert Level 3.

The uncertainty around how long we will remain in Alert Level 3 presents a challenge. In a normal world, this week and next would have seen us moving into semi-finals and finals from Year 8 – Premier Ladies grades. We feel that to pick up competition again after several weeks of no play would be a massive ask on our volunteers and further, the inability for teams to train and maintain the level of fitness to compete at their respective levels may have led to diminished fitness and strength. We need to keep all our players safe from injury so you can come back next season with limbs intact!

This is deeply disappointing for all of us. This decision has not been made lightly however it is the most responsible one to make in light of current events.

We are still working for our community to bring a Summer League to our courts so please watch this space.

Important to Note: Our Centre is still closed under Alert Level 3 Government Guidelines so use of the courts or facilities are not permitted at all until further notice.

Take care.

The Team at Cambridge Netball Centre
