Junior Secondary  2024

Registration: Open to all Year 9 & 10 Students

Length of Competition: 14 weeks (may be extended to 16 weeks dependant on team entry numbers)

Year Group: Year 9-10

Day: Saturdays 

Where: Cambridge Netball Centre - 12 Scott Street

Time: Either 11.55, 12.55 or 1.55 rounds

Registration Fee:  $700 per team

Registrations open 1 March 2024.  Close 31 March 2024

Competition Starts:  Saturday 4 May 2024 (14 weeks - last game 31 August)

No play dates 2024: 1 June, 29 June, 13 July, 20 July

Where can I register my child to play?  Cambridge High School are currently the only school entering teams into our Junior Secondary Competition - however we welcolm all other schools and clubs at this grade.  

Overview Junior Secondary Grade

Netball players within Year 9 & 10 are made up of individuals with a particularly wide range of abilities, personalities and stages of growth, all of which are changing and developing at different rates.  These factors combined with Netball’s high intensity, repetitive stop, start, and jump movements means that coaches of all levels must ensure that players are actively working on fundamental Netball movements each practice.  This will maximise players physical development and movement capabilities so they can extend their skills, game play capabilities and reduce the chance of serious injury meaning they can fully enjoy the season ahead and ultimately a lifelong involvement in Netball.

Structure

Our season is made up of a Promotion Relegation Round and a Championship Round followed by Semis and Finals.

Rep teams and Rep Competitions

Cambridge Netball will hold trials for players to represent the Centre in the follwing grades - Under 14 & Under 16 in early May 2024 - dates TBC.
